Jaipur: The pink city

The land of culture, history and folklores, Jaipur is the place where time stops. The Pink City of India, Jaipur is on every traveller’s list and it rightfully deserves its spot! This place provided a home to many great minds who gave us history which was clairvoyant. Whether it is Jantar Mantar or Hawa Mahal, every monument here is an amalgamation of science and dreams.

Hawa Mahal

If you are planning to visit Jaipur anytime soon, then, this would be the best time! Start your journey with the heart of this place, the City Centre. Have a sumptuous breakfast in the realms of Bapu Bazar and satiate your childhood dreams of magic by visiting Jantar Mantar. The astronomical observatory, established by King Sawai Jai Singh II to study space and time, was built between 1724 -1735. Once you are done merging in the wonder of this place, which is quite hard, move towards the Hawa Mahal. Made of pink sandstone and in Mughal style, this palace of wind was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 so that the royal women could enjoy the street festivals without being seen by the outside world. When you will enter this place, you will feel that historical breeze of celebrations touching your soul.

If you are amongst those travellers who are lusty for royal architecture, climb up the mountain for Amer fort and Nahargarh fort. These two forts stand strong and proud to give everyone an unforgettable adventure. Unlike Hawa Mahal, these forts have Hindu elemental structure. While walking up the opulent pathway of the Amer fort, you would be able to feel the faint sound of the trumpets which will lead you towards the mesmerising Sheesh Mahal. Not only Amer, Nahargarh too wouldn’t fail to enchant you with its intricate detailing. The palace stands tall on the hill top and looks down towards a beautiful garden surrounded by water. Stand here and take in the solitary winds of the Aravalli Hills. You wouldn’t want to return from this captivating place!
